Using MySQL

The MySQL development project has made its source code available under the terms of the GNU General Public License, as well as under a variety of proprietary agreements. MySQL was owned and sponsored by a single for-profit firm, the Swedish company MySQL AB, now owned by Oracle Corporation. There are however limits to how far performance can scale on a single server, so on larger scales, multi-server MySQL deployments are required to provide improved performance and reliability. A typical high-end configuration can include a powerful master database which handles data write operations and is replicated to multiple slaves that handle all read operations. professional senior photos

Project Honeypot

Austin portrait photography studio Project Honey Pot is a web based honeypot network which uses software embedded in web sites to collect information about IP addresses used when harvesting e-mail addresses for spam or other similar purposes such as bulk mailing and e-mail fraud. The project also solicits the donation of unused MX entries from domain owners. In computer terminology, a honeypot is a trap set to detect, deflect, or in some manner counteract attempts at unauthorized use of information systems. Generally it consists of a computer, data, or a network site that appears to be part of a network, but is actually isolated and monitored, and which seems to contain information or a resource of value to attackers.

OpenDNS

OpenDNS is a DNS (Domain Name System) resolution service. An opt-in service, OpenDNS offers advanced features, such as misspelling correction, phishing protection, and optional content filtering. A free service and paid advertisement-free services are available. OpenDNS offers DNS resolution for consumers and businesses as an alternative to using their Internet service provider's DNS servers. By placing company servers in strategic locations and employing a large cache of the domain names, OpenDNS can process queries more quickly. DNS query results are sometimes cached by the local operating system or applications, so this speed increase may not be noticeable with every request but only with requests that are not stored in a local cache.
